Christmas Contemporary Gilding Class at the Art Studio
In this half-day workshop, you will learn about the techniques and equipment that will help you enhance any item in your home.
Your tutor will be Amelia from @amelia.jane.gilding. Amelia has a Bachelor’s and Master's Degree in the Conservation of Cultural Heritage from the University of Lincoln. She is a gilt frame, objects and decorative surfaces conservator and restorer and has worked in the Fine Arts sector for over 4 years gaining extensive experience in restoring and conserving antiques.
It is suitable for those with little or no experience of gilding. This workshop is an enjoyable introduction to the technique of contemporary gilding using Dutch Gold leaf and acrylic size.
In the workshop, you will have the opportunity to gild a picture frame, and add your own unique gilded flair to a Christmas ornament. You will learn how to use gilding in your own home to give anything a new gilded sparkle!
The class will start at 7.30pm and all materials are provided. Refreshments, including a glass of fizz, will be provided.
