Rewired
The upbeat musical that’s going to be electric!
“I should be someone else by now, if only I knew what or where or how…”
Six people on the brink of something new, all waiting for something or someone to happen.
Rewired is an upbeat, sassy, musical about real people, written by local creatives, Kaye Vincent and Kaye Tompkins.
It’s a slice of real life, featuring lovable characters, humour, pathos memorable music, a live band and story-led choreography, whose lives we follow as they get to work clearing the cluttered home of recently deceased Albert, the old recluse.
Shaz is in lust with Mac, but he sees her as one of the boys. Russ is divorced and angry, poor Brains really doesn’t have a clue, nosey neighbour Mrs T is far more than anyone bargained for, and then there’s Albert, the gentle recluse who’s guarding his house of memories.
As we learn about their lives, hidden talents are revealed.
When the show was first performed at The Castle, Wellingborough, Northants, as Wired, in 2005, audience members said: “It was very refreshing to find an original musical based on the world of real work, not lifted from literature or showbiz life.”
“A truly magnificent piece of theatre.”
“An inspirational musical score.”
Let the characters find a place in your heart.
