Britain's What's On Event Guide
Lights of Life 2024
We never stop missing the people no longer with us, and our annual Lights of Life event is an opportunity to reflect on precious memories and celebrate the lives of the people no longer with us. Hosted in the beautiful gardens at Garden House Hospice Care on Sunday 17th November, all are welcome to be part of this special memorial service.
The service will be hosted by BBC Radio Presenter Babs Michel and includes:
• Readings from staff and families
• Live music
• A moment of silence by candlelight
• The official switch on of the Lights of Life
• Warming refreshments
This year you can also dedicate a star, or a personalised hand-painted wreath in the name of your loved one. With a donation towards funding our care this winter, your star or wreath will be hung in the garden alongside hundreds of other special people being celebrated. A beautiful show not only of love, but also support for the future of the Hospice. Click on the link to our website to find out how.
Every day we need to raise £15,300 so we can continue to provide our services free of charge to people in the local community. No matter the size, your donation will make a difference to those who rely on us for help and support right now.
• £24 could pay for an hour of care on our Inpatient Unit, for one patient
• £43 could cover a one-to-one bereavement counselling session from our Family Support team
• £86 could fund two visits to a patient’s home by our community team
