Westwood Cross Jewellery Brand Celebrates 10 Years with Charity
The Westwood Cross branch of popular jewellery brand, H. Samuel, is celebrating 10 years of dedicated fundraising for Young Lives vs Cancer, with its first ever mascot ‘dance off’, featuring their beloved charity bear, George.
Young Lives vs Cancer is a charity that supports children and young people, and their families, through whatever cancer throws at them, powered by the kindness of its supporters.
The event will take place on Saturday 12 October, coincided with its mascot parade, which will leave H. Samuel in the main mall at Westwood Cross, Broadstairs. Further fundraising activities will be on offer across the day, including a 24-hour raffle and pyjama party. What’s more, the team’s annual sponsored walk will take place on Tuesday 15th October, followed by a final fundraising weekend over 26th and 27th October with children’s fancy dress, face painting and colouring competition.
This unique event marks a special milestone for H. Samuel, as the charity bear, George, turns 10 years old this October. To commemorate both George’s birthday and the decade-long partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer, H. Samuel has created a life-size version of George, who will lead the parade and join his friends for a birthday party like no other!
The parade, set to begin at 11:30am from H. Samuel, will conclude at the Viking Boat, outside Next, where George and his mascot friends will take part in a lively group dance to delight shoppers and passers-by.
The event will also offer plenty of opportunities for photos with George and his friends, including Percy Pig and the Westwood Cross mascot, Bella Bear. Walking marshals will be present, carrying collection tins to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer, so guests are encouraged to give generously to support this vital charity.
