Britain's What's On Event Guide
Cafe Scientifique October meeting
Ian Jelley, Director of Landscape Recovery for Warwickshire Wildlife trust will be asking
Investing in nature. Is it the key to addressing the challenges we face?
The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries on Earth and 1in6 of our species is under threat from extinction. Yet scientific research demonstrates that a thriving natural world helps us all feel happier and healthier, addressing both mental and physical health challenges. Nature also provides fresh air, clean water and nutritious food. And in the face of climate change a properly functioning natural world helps us to mitigate the impacts of climate change and adapt to a future of more frequent extreme weather events. So why isn't the UK prioritising the investment to restore nature that would help address so many of the challenges we all face, and what can we all do about that?
Talk begins at 7.30 PM
