White Rose Shopping Centre is bringing back the Mahogany Market on Saturday 19th October from 10am to 5pm, inviting shoppers to support local Black-owned businesses and explore handmade crafts, food, drinks, and unique gifts.
The market features:
• Mouth-watering candyfloss “as big as your head” from Rae of Sunshine Events
• Satin bonnets from Jeanie’s Satins
• Gold-plated jewellery created by Damilola Jewellery

Founded in September 2020, the Mahogany Market curates events and proudly showcases Afro-Caribbean culture through local artisans and handcrafted items. It cultivates connections between the community and local enterprises by offering a diverse range of products and services in its surrounding areas.
Ashleigh Kellett, Deputy Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “White Rose is proud to host the Mahogany Market, a vibrant celebration of culture, creativity, and community. Join us as we spotlight Black-owned businesses and talents, weaving together tradition and innovation.”
Mahogany Market founder Rachael Mills added: “The Mahogany Market is all about supporting Black-led local businesses and giving them a platform. We’d encourage everyone to get involved and show their support for these fantastic local businesses – not only for Black History Month but all-year-round.”
