Britain's What's On Event Guide
Ware Poets Evening with Acclaimed Poet Imtiaz Dharker
One of the UK's leading poets, Imtiaz Dharker, is the guest reader at this special Ware Poets event.
Imtiaz was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry, and her poems feature on the GCSE and A Level English syllabus, BBC radio, television, the London Underground, Glasgow billboards and Mumbai buses.
The evening offers the chance to hear a top poet locally.
It is also an opportunity for students studying for GCSE and A level English to attend a reading by a poet whose work is on the curriculum. (Entry is free for under 19's but please book in advance).
The evening will start with an open mic session with readings by audience members, followed by Imtiaz’s performance. There will be a bar courtesy of Southern Maltings.
This project is part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, with the generous support of East Herts District Council and Ware Town Council.
Time: Doors open 7.30pm, event 8-10pm
