Walking Home
Lace up your walking boots and let's talk mental health! Each mile walked and every donation raised helps us to break the stigma around mental health to support veterans and their families.
Walking Home is Walking With The Wounded's annual winter fundraising campaign. After a decade of walking and raising over £2 million to support veterans and their families, we are introducing a new era of our annual fundraising campaign.
This year, Walking Home focuses on 'Let's Talk' because mental health is an important but tough topic to start a conversation about. We want to change that.
At Walking With The Wounded, we empower veterans by reigniting their sense of purpose, enabling them to make a positive contribution to their communities and lead independent lives. Whether mentally, physically or socially wounded we support ex-service personnel and their families most in need. We offer personalised employment support, mental health and well-being support, and support care coordination to help veterans who are struggling after military service.
Take on a sponsored walk with friends, family or colleagues somewhere important to you. No minimum distance is required, and there is no set fundraising target. Every step taken and penny raised will support veterans and their families across the UK.
It’s super easy to get involved, all you have to do is:
1. Sign up- Create your fundraising page and start planning your Walking Home challenge.
2. Fundraise- Join forces with family, friends and colleagues and raise money.
3. Walk- Big or small, it’s time to put your walk into motion.
4. Make a difference- your donations help us to reignite the sense of purpose of ex-servicemen and women.
It is completely free to enter, we simply ask that you fundraise for Walking With The Wounded. You can complete your walk on any day at any time between the 9th and 22nd December or complete your miles over several days!
