West Wight Arts Association concert
West Wight Arts Association’s Christmas concert, to be given in Freshwater Memorial Hall, sees the return of the highly popular A4 Brass quartet on Saturday December 7th starting at 7.00 pm.
A4 Brass consist of four highly experienced and immensely talented principal players from some of the UK’s top brass bands, including Black Dyke, Brighouse & Rastrick and Foden’s, rarely heard this far south. The Quartet has a unique blend of instruments, with a cornet, tenor horn, baritone and euphonium creating an exclusive sound that stands out from the standard brass quartet.
They will play a wide selection of pieces to please all tastes by composers ranging from Bernstein, Kosma, Percy Grainger, Elgar, Irving Berlin (the inevitable “Wight” Christmas) and Mendelssohn, many of them arranged by Quartet members Jonathan Bates and Chris Robertson.
