The Trinity Pilots of Aldeburgh - A Talk by Chris Broom
The fascinating story of a cadre of courageous mariners who provided merchant ships with safe passage from dangerous onshore waters to coastal and inland ports. The talk also touches upon the origins of pilotage, the history of the UK lighthouse authority, Trinity House, and offers a unique perspective on the town of Aldeburgh.
Chris is a graduate of the Institute of Heraldic and Genealogical Studies who gained his Higher Certificate in 2016 and the Diploma in Genealogy the following year. He now runs a family history business specialising in East Anglian research and Heraldry. He is also Chairman of the Alde Valley Suffolk Family History Group!
