Tis the season! Ware care home invites local community for festive fun
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a care home in Ware, as they prepare for the festive season with activities for the local community—with a fete, carol service and pantomime.
On Wednesday 4th December, from 2pm – 4pm, Care UK’s Snowdrop House, on Baldock Street, is inviting people in the local area to get into the festive spirit, by joining residents and team members at the home’s Christmas fete.
Visitors will be able to do a spot of Christmas shopping at a variety of stalls, including handmade, personalised gifts and jewellery, while enjoying a festive tipple of mulled wine. There will also be plenty of fun family-friendly games, with a tombola, raffle and lucky dip.
A very special guest, Father Christmas, will also be present to join in the festive fun, welcoming guests of all ages in his Snowdrop House grotto.
The following week, on Thursday 12th December, Snowdrop House will host a Carol Service featuring traditional hymns from 2.30pm – 4pm. Guests are encouraged to wear Christmas jumpers to bring the festive spirit.
The home’s festive activities continue with a Winter Wonderland show from touring theatre company Tickled Pink on 16th December at 11am. The show will be complete with mince pies and hot chocolate.
Clare Crow, Home Manager at Snowdrop House, said: “Here at Snowdrop House, we are committed to playing an active role in the community, which is why we’re thrilled to be opening our doors for some festive fun.
“The fete, carol service and pantomime promise to bring the festive cheer and will be wonderful opportunities to get everyone into the Christmas spirit. It’s also a lovely time for residents to reminisce about their happy Christmas memories, share a story or two, and meet new people from the local community.
We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone into Snowdrop House - I can hear the jingle bells already.
