The Arts Society's Speaker this month is Tom Duncan who has studied The History of Art with Ancient History and Archaeology at Trinity College Dublin. He is speaking on the story of St Matthews wise men and encompasses the ancient spice trade, the expansion of the Roman Empire and the extraordinary journey made by the early Church from persecution to toleration and onto total dominance of the Roman world. The story journeys from the southern Arabian peninsula by way of Egypt, Petra, ancient Rome and Ravenna.
