Britain's What's On Event Guide
York Vegan Christmas Festival
The first York Vegan Christmas Festival, from Vegan Events UK, is coming to York RI Sports Centre this December. So if you’re looking for inspiration, are interested in finding out more about a vegan lifestyle, or looking for some great Christmas gift ideas, the York Vegan Christmas Festival is the perfect place. And as entry is free for under-16s, it is ideal for families.
Festival highlights not to be missed include 60 stalls featuring world food caterers, cakes, dairy and meat alternatives, skincare and beauty, clothing, juices, smoothies, and healthy treats, recipes, nutritional advice and budget cooking ideas, free samples, talks and cookery demonstrations plus much more…
Stalls include animal welfare charity Miracle’s Mission, which helps animals worldwide with rescue, neuter and education programmes in Borneo, Malaysia and Cairo, Egypt, providing stray animals with safety, comfort and health. It also specialises in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of disabled animals.
There will also be a stall selling Bo’s Book, a vegan cook book that features simple, easy-to-follow recipes together with beautiful illustrations of dogs from Miracle’s Mission. All the profits go to help needy dogs at Miracle's Mission.
Local stall holders include Soap Out Of The Garden, producers of cold process handmade soap and more, made in York using botanicals natural colourants, and essential oils for a plastic-free bathroom. Many materials are certified organic, and all are vegan and cruelty-free approved by PETA.
Imogen Ward is an illustrator and animator living and working in Scarborough who loves to create feel-good images and environments, with the aim of making people feel joyful, nostalgic, or simply entertained. Ella's Vegan Yorkshire Bakery is located in the town of Malton, nestled between the North Yorkshire moors and the Yorkshire Wolds. They’ve perfected a range of ready-made vegan mixes, including a vegan Yorkshire pudding mix.
It runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm. Standard Entry is £5 (under 16’s free) or advance tickets are £15
