Cardiff care home invites local people to Christmas Craft Fayre
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at a care home in Cardiff, as they prepare for a day of festive fun - crafting beautiful wreaths and other fantastically festive items for the local community.
On Saturday 14th December, from 2.30-4.30pm, Care UK’s Llys Herbert, on Ty-Draw Road, is inviting local people to get into the festive spirit by joining residents and team members at the home’s Christmas Craft Fayre.
Visitors will be able to do a spot of Christmas shopping at a variety of stalls, including hampers, jewellery, bags, cards, and handmade, personalised gifts, such as sock snowmen and festive table centrepieces, as well as wreaths and other items made by residents and local crafters. Complementary tea, coffee and mince pies will also be available to enjoy, to get the Christmas spirit flowing. There will also be plenty of family-friendly fun, including a lucky dip, tombola, and raffle.
Local crafters are also invited to join the fun and sell their own creations at the fayre. So far, the crafting community has been working hard to create cushions and hand-made jewellery for the event.
Dorothy Pye, Interim Home Manager at Llys Herbert, said: “Here at Llys Herbert, we strive to play an active role in our community, which is why we’re thrilled to be opening our doors for a day of festive fun.
“Not only is our Craft Fayre a wonderful chance for everyone to get into the Christmas spirit, but it’s a lovely opportunity for residents to reminisce over their happy Christmas memories, share stories, and meet new people.”
