John Bean : Conductor

J. Brahms: Academic Festival Overture
A. Bean: Hope in Challenging Times
M. Bruch: Violin Concerto No. 1

“Hope” translates into music the political state and outcome of the last 40 years. It reflects the past but with hope and a sense of change coming. Starting life as a piano quintet, the orchestration has been developed specifically for Loughborough orchestra. The movements progress from 1980 to the current day when despite the world stage appearing in disarray the composer still believes in hope for 2025.

Ailsa is a violinist from Leicestershire, who recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music. Recently, she has performed recitals in Manchester, Leicestershire, Southport, Inverness, and Greece, and has performed as a soloist with the RNCM String Orchestra, Bardi Symphony Orchestra, and the Great Bowden Camerata.
