About this Event
Debbie Moss – author talk & book launch for 'Angel's Teeth'
We are delighted to welcome you to join this event where our talented freelance educator, Debbie Moss launches her first Holocaust related novel, Angel's Teeth.
Set in Terezin, a ghetto established by the Nazis in the former Czechoslovakia, Angel’s Teeth introduces young readers to an often-overlooked chapter of Holocaust history. Of the 15,000 children who passed through this concentration camp, only 100 survived. The story follows Ruth and her parents as they navigate the horrors of the Holocaust, ultimately surviving against the odds.
Debbie previously hosted our ‘White Rose’ event which was held here at the Museum in 2023 where modern poetry was created based upon Holocaust Survivor testimony. We are delighted to support her once again, with the launch of her new novel.
About the book
Through Ruth’s journey, the book reveals the resilience of Jewish people in the darkest of times and even explores moments of humanity among certain Nazi soldiers. It also highlights the complex history of Jewish soldiers, such as Ruth’s father, who had fought for Germany during the First World War.
Children will connect with the story's themes of feeling powerless in a world dominated by adult decisions, while discovering the importance of love, resilience, and the secrets shared across generations. Angel’s Teeth challenges misconceptions about the Holocaust, presenting history in a way that resonates powerfully with young readers and opens avenues for meaningful dialogue between children and adults.
This talk is suitable for children aged 9 and above.
