About this Event
Clwydians Beauty and the Beast
Embark on a breathtaking journey, starting with stunning views of the Jubilee Tower on Moel Famau. As we traverse wide bridleways, you’ll have ample space to chat and soak in the beauty around you. We’ll gently skirt around Moel Arthur and descend through the enchanting Coed Llangwyfan woodland, unveiling spectacular vistas of the Vale of Clwyd.
Our path will meander along the side of the Clwyds, keeping those mesmerizing views in sight for a couple of miles until we merge with the historic Offa’s Dyke path. As we walk along the hilltop, we soon reach the Iron Age hillfort, Penycloddiau, one of the largest hillforts in Wales. We’ll then ascend Moel Arthur, offering you panoramic views from this prominent 2,500-year-old site.
The walk continues as we tackle the exhilarating climb up Moel Llys-y-coed, known for its short yet challenging ascent. Once we’ve conquered the beast, our journey along the ridge presents more awe-inspiring views of the Vale of Clwyd before we make our descent back to Cilcain.
This relaxed-paced walk, guided by an experienced leader in a small group of no more than 8 people, promises not just incredible sights but also a friendly and enriching experience. Join me for a day of exploration, camaraderie, and unforgettable natural beauty.
