Honeyglaze live at Coventry Central Library March 1st
This South London based, haiku-loving trio is comprised of vocalist and guitarist Anouska Sokolow, bassist Tim Curtis, and Yuri Shibuichi on drums.
Born out of lead songwriter Sokolow’s un-desire to be a solo-act, the broody-pop come alt indie group met officially at their first ever rehearsal- just three days ahead of what was to become a near-residency, at their favoured ‘The Windmill’, Brixton.
Their latest release ‘Real Deal’; recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Claudius Mittendorfer (Parquet Courts, Sorry, Interpol) has it’s foundations laid in emotional introspection, post-tour hangovers, and the harsh realities of surviving in the real world as musicians. ‘Real Deal’ captures the urgency of their live performance; bottling the detonative power of Shibuichi’s percussion, the pacing tension of Curtis’s bass and the quiet menace of Sokolow’s delivery.
