Starts at 3pm (doors open 2.30pm). The Cafe & Bar will be open before and during the concert for purchase of refreshments. There will be a short interval.

Recommended parking is in Biggleswade Town council car parks which are free on Sundays. biggleswadetowncouncil.gov.uk/services/car-parks/ The White Hart is beside the venue. Chestnut Avenue, Mill Lane & others are also close.

Bigg Community Concert featuring East Bedfordshire Chamber Choir
This is a sponsored community concert at a new venue - the Bigg Theatre on the High Street in Biggleswade www.thebiggtheatre.co.uk/ . The building has an interesting history and was previously a Pizza Express & before that, an electrical shop with some lovely architectural features. The front of house is now a community café & bar which will be open for the concert.
To appeal to a wide audience in the local community, the programme consists of a variety of short pieces in many styles, including:
Gaudete
Three Motets (Stanford)
The Seal Lullaby & Lux Aurumque (Whitacre),
Like a Singing Bird, Be thou my vision, Danny Boy & Shenandoah (Chilcott)
Irish Blessing (Stopford)
Aye Fond Kiss (it’s just after Burns’ night, after all!) & The lark in the clear air (Calvert)
An arrangement of Blue Moon (Rodgers), and more……
The choir will be conducted by their new Music Director, Bene’t Coldstream, and accompanied by David Della Valle on keyboard.
Sponsorship has enabled the ticket price to be just £3 (plus a booking fee of 30p).
It’s recommended to buy tickets in advance from The BIGG Theatre website. Tickets will be available on the door unless sold out.
