About this Event

The Victorians Conference - for those interested in family history

Spanning social and family history over the sixty-three years of the reign of Queen Victoria, this one-day conference focuses on topics such as Victorian records in The National Archives, factory work, death and the Victorians, crime and punishment, The Great Exhibition of 1851 and the Victorian soldier. The line-up of speakers, headed up by historian, author and TV presenter Professor Kate Williams, represents a wide range of expertise from the media and academia. Attendees may choose from a varied programme of talk and advice sessions and there will also be time to browse exhibition stands in the display area.

The venue is Wokefield Place, within the Wokefield Estate, a conference centre and hotel just outside of Reading.

The ticket price includes lunch in the restaurant and refreshments throughout the day. It includes an early bird discount of £5 available for all bookings received by 31st March. See full event details on Berkshire FHS's website.

Pre-booking is required.
