About this Event
Intergenerational Family Portraiture Workshop
Most kids love drawing - most adults are terrified of it! And drawing faces?! The scariest.
Most of us start drawing before we start talking - at this age everything we create is a masterpiece! But then we grow up, find new ways to connect with the world, and forget how much fun it can be - or worse, we get stuck thinking we can't draw!
This interactive, intergenerational workshop is a chance for grown-ups to rediscover the joy of drawing - and for children to relish in it! This is a chance for you to inspire and connect with each other in a memorable and meaningful way - to explore new things together and pick up some fun ideas/prompts to try at home!
After a quick warm-up challenge, we’ll invite both children and adults to take a turn to pose for the rest of their group/table to draw. You'll draw miniature portraits in around 6 minutes, following a series of optional experimental prompts. Expect to draw with your left hand, with your right hand, with your eyes closed, abstract style and more!
The workshop will be led by Dulcie Ball, the Founder of Sketch Appeal CIC. She believes EVERYONE CAN DRAW and have loads of fun while they’re at it - come along to this workshop and she'll show you how!
