About this Event
Nature's Cure in Time of Need; Community Workshop
Come join the Natural History Society of Northumbria at the Land of Oak and Iron for a free workshop celebrating the natural heritage of the region as part of the Nature’s Cure in Time of Need: New Voices for North East Nature project.
This Heritage Lottery-funded initiative aims to capture underrepresented voices and their stories of how nature has provided comfort and strength in challenging times. These stories will then be consolidated as part of a new collection in the North East Nature Archive, housed in the Great North Museum: Hancock and preserved for future generations.
During the morning there will be a presentation about the North East Nature Archive, we will look for special nature places on a community map, create nature journals and write short stories of ‘nature’s cure in times of need’. Light refreshments included.
