The Argyle String Orchestra Spring Concert
Our programme celebrates dances and soundscapes from across time. The concert culminates in Ottorino Respighi’s mighty Ancient Airs and Dances Suite Three, which explores the drama and beauty of renaissance Italy with a modern twist. Alongside popular works by Henry Purcell, Wolfgang Mozart and Johannes Brahms, the orchestra will also perform a new work by rising cello star and composer, Ayanna Witter-Johnson. DreamCity explores the sonic world of London during 2020, showing how classical music continues to react to the modern world as it has done in the centuries before it.
