About this Event
Swallow and dragonfly willow sculpture weaving workshop
In this workshop you will make two mini sculptures which can be mounted on stakes or hang on the wall, using two different weaving techniques.
The dragonfly is made using a weave which originated from corn dolly making to create a plaited body with wings, which can be either woven or left open. Either hang them on the wall or fly them on a stake or rope. They look great flying over a pond too.
Swallows are made using a basket weave technique and can be hung on a wall or mounted on a stake or trellis.
This course is suitable for beginners, and those with some experience. Some degree of finger strength and dexterity is required.
All materials included, however if you wish to bring preferred secateurs or garden cutters, you are welcome to do so.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. The cafe will be open for the duration, serving savoury food and sweet treats.
