Great Expectations
My father’s family name being Pirrip,
and my christian name Philip,
my infant tongue could make of both names nothing longer or more explicit than Pip.
So, I called myself Pip
and came to be called Pip.
The Class of 2025 brings Charles Dickens's classic coming-of-age tale to the stage in a brand new adaptation. At the centre of this story is Pip, whose journey from childhood to adulthood, through fortune and misfortune, in love and tragedy, is played out by a group of actors who are themselves on the brink of adulthood. This fluid ensemble production explores what it truly means to grow up.
