Illuminated Monogram Embossing Workshop
Fancy learning a new skill? Then come along to this 4 hour workshop with Carrie Dennison of Crafts for Wellbeing, learning the skill of metal embossing to create an illuminated monogram.
Carrie will start with an introduction, followed by a small practice piece so that you can get used to how the tools and materials work. We’ll then move on to creating your illuminated monogram design.
You will draw out your chosen initial letter and then Carrie will show you a traditional space filling method used in medieval manuscripts for creating the background design.
No experience of metal embossing is necessary, as Carrie will take you through all the methods to make your monogram. We’ll go through all the steps from creating your design, to transferring it to the aluminium plate, learning the techniques of metal embossing and finally how to finish your monogram to make it look aged and add some colour too.
You will leave the workshop with a beautiful and unique illuminated monogram (the photographs really don’t show how stunning these illuminated letters are). Your creation can be displayed indoors or outdoors.
Suitable for beginners and those who have some experience of metal embossing.
Create your own Illuminated Monogram to keep all to yourself, or maybe give to someone special as a gift.
The workshop would also make a great gift too.
Price includes tuition, all materials and a lovely cuppa from the café.
