One of the finest solo violinists of her time, Ruth Waterman’s performances have taken her from the Royal Festival Hall to Carnegie Hall to St Petersburg’s Hermitage. Now focussing on painting, she has had several solo exhibitions, leading her to puzzle over the similarities and differences between these activities. How much overlap is there? What are the challenges of each? And is there a way of describing the creative process?
