Ellie Fagg From the age of 3, Ellie Fagg has always had a flair for music and her love for the violin and chamber music was cemented age 7 when she first attended Pro Corda in Suffolk. Her passion has always been about the challenges of the instrument, the beauty of the abstract and all the wonderful people she meets along the way. In 2010 Ellie co-founded the Puertas Quartet and reached the semi-finals of the Bordeaux International Quartet Competition. Between 2010-2014 they toured the U.K. and New Zealand extensively and released two CDs on Atoll records to critical acclaim. Their CD of Ravel and Tchaikovsky was chosen as CD of the month by the Strad Magazine.
Stephanie Tress Steph’s career is mainly centred around chamber music; she is a founding member of the Solem Quartet, formed in Manchester in 2011. Former Junior Fellows at the RNCM, they enjoy a busy concert schedule including venues such as Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Kings Place and Kettle's Yard. Their debut album ‘The Four Quarters’ received critical acclaim and is regularly played on Classic FM, Radio 3 and Scala Radio. The quartet has worked closely with many of today’s leading composers, including Anna Meredith, Colin Matthews, Edmund Finnis and Thomas Adès. Their work has been recognised through generous awards from the Royal Philharmonic Society and Jerwood Arts.
