Join me on an unforgettable adventure through the Carneddau, the largest contiguous area of high ground over 900m in Wales and England, featuring some of the highest peaks in the country. Our journey begins just past Abergwyngregyn village and takes us to the stunning summits of Drum, Foel-Fras, and Carnedd Gwenllian, two of the renowned Welsh 3000s.
If we are lucky, we will come across some of the wild ponies that roam the Carneddau.
As we traverse the Carneddau, we’ll visit the fascinating Buarthau’r Gyrlan multicellular sheepfold before descending towards Aber Falls. Marvel at this dramatic waterfall as it plunges 120 feet into a shallow rocky pool, creating a breathtaking spectacle. We’ll then continue our path back towards the picturesque village of Abergwyngregyn.
Our walk also includes a glimpse into history as we pass by several small Bronze Age settlements, including an excavated roundhouse. With every step, you’ll be immersed in the rich natural beauty and historical significance of this remarkable region.
This guided walk is designed to be both enriching and enjoyable, with a relaxed pace set by your experienced leader. Join a small group of fellow explorers and create lasting memories as you discover the majesty of the Carneddau and the awe-inspiring Aber Falls.
