A historical walk from Faversham to Oare

On the 1st June as a part of Active Travel Day organised by Faversham Town Council, we will be strolling from the delightful town of Faversham to visit the nearby village of Oare.

The walk will start at Faversham Recreation Ground. From the park we will make our way through the historic town of Faversham and onto a path skirting the estuary to Oare. On the way back we will pass through fields and woods to visit the site of the former gunpowder mill and then onto our starting point. Along the way we will hear tales of Kings having very bad days, monsters emerging from the murk of the estuary and ghostly sea captains haunting pubs.
