If you have always wanted to join a choir locally, you can!
Your friendly local Hitchin choir is run by singing teacher Rob Baker. The Hitchin branch is part of the unique national singing family that is Rock Choir. Whilst retaining our focus on Hitchin community causes and events, our nearby Rock Choir groups come together in regional and even national groups for bigger events, such performing en masse at the Liverpool Arena, achieving album sales that enter the charts, nationwide flaskmobs and Guinness World Records and helping to raise millions for charity. Joining this incomparable musical national treasure is very easy, there are no auditions, there's no need to read music and we're open to everyone in your local community!
You've probably heard us singing in and around Hertfordshire, or seen one of our many TV appearances, and never thought you'd have to courage to get up on stage and sing! But the unique teaching methods at the Hitchin Rock Choir, along with no need to audition or read music, mean that we are accessible to all. Come along and try us out for FREE at a taster session, and experience singing with your local 'exceptional' Rock Choir for yourself.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'Being part of the choir has given me a wonderful opportunity to belong to a fantastic venture into the world of contemporary music and given me a new lease of life. Singing in the choir is a much better 'pick-me-up' than any anti-depressant tablet prescribed by a doctor. I come away after the weekly choir session with the best feeling ever and the companionship with fellow members is something money can't buy.' - Janet (Rock Choir member)
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
