Whalley and District Gardens - Open Garden for NGS
Whalley and District Gardens inc 2 small private gardens, a few minutes journey from the town centre, which also offers a peaceful community garden at its hub. The Hollies, has colourful borders framing a pond with interesting perennial planting and seating areas. The small, terraced garden at 5 Painter Crescent, sits at the top of a hill, with panoramic views across surrounding countryside. The garden of the English Martyrs Church has magnificent mature trees, glorious, fragrance filled borders and sweeping lawns. St Mary & All Saints has C10 stone crosses, old stone paths and grassed areas. Whalley Abbey offers a tranquil garden on the banks of the River Calder and photographic opportunities amid historic surroundings.
