C17 village, recorded in Domesday, entered by old toll gate. Ornamental stone bridge over the River Stour and interesting church with C13 tower and late C17 nave after Wren. 9 contrasting gardens. One with extensive lawns and fine mature trees with river and garden monuments. A plantsmans garden with unusual trees and shrubs creating year-round interest.
