Walworth Gardens - Open Garden for NGS

Quarry End is a 1½ acre woodland garden developed over 20 yrs on the site of an ancient quarry. The garden offers a wide variety of mature trees, shrubs, perennials, a fernery and potager. There is a reclaimed quarry woodland, an C18 ice house and lovely views over South Durham. The Dovecote has three themes. An English cottage garden featuring espalier fruit trees, and heavily scented tea roses. A Japanese garden with a moongate drawing you through to specimen acer trees and a small Zen garden overlooking a Koi pond. The vegetable plot is wrapped round with a Grade II listed vented wall and has great space saving ideas. Castle Barn gardens are now well established with fruit trees, raised beds and colourful borders.
