Bucks Pottery & Sculpture Society talk
In this month's meeting of the Bucks Pottery and Sculpture Society, our guest speaker will be Spanish ceramicist Sophie Aguilera Lester.
Sophie's most recent work focuses on the research and revision of still-lifes and nature inspired by traditional trompe l'oeil ceramics. She enjoys working with meticulous floral forms, fruits and fabrics; creating new contemporary settings inspired by tradition and classical virtuosity, where she includes small elements of surprise with the intention of creating anachronistic contrasts and playful visual tensions.
