On International Dylan Thomas Day – and the eve of the winner announcement for the Swansea University Dylan Thomas Prize, the world’s largest literary award for young writers – The British Library will host a very special ‘Shortlist Celebration’ event. To mark 20 years of this prestigious award, actor and patron of the Prize – Michael Sheen – will take to the stage for an exclusive ‘curtain raiser’ to open the evening of celebrations, followed by five of this year’s shortlisted authors (Seán Hewit, Ferdia Lennon, Rebecca Watson, Eley Williams and Yasmin Zaher) who will read from their acclaimed books and answer audience questions, chaired by literary journalist and judge of the 2025 Prize, Max Liu.
