We are Oyster Community Press CIC and we run marmalade from our garden studio in Soham, Ely. As we are a not-for-profit, community interest arts organisation we like to support other charitable organisations and are donating all proceeds from our first Introduction to Linocutting workshop on 10th May to the Prospects Trust charity at Snakehall Farm, Reach. Half-day linocutting workshops at marmalade are relaxed, sociable and busy. In this introductory session you will learn about the Relief printmaking method of linocutting and how to use our printmaking equipment safely so that you can create your own black and white and coloured linocut prints to take home. All our workshops are suitable for beginners, people with no arts experience or those with rusty skills, as we take you through every process and provide you with one-to-one tuition, so that you can work confidently, and at your own pace. All materials are provided at our workshops, along with tea, coffee and homemade light refreshments. Young people over 16 years old are very welcome if they bring an adult with them. Please note, that although our inks are washable and we have aprons in the studio, we don’t recommend wearing your best clothes when you visit us, as printmaking can be a bit messy! Here's what Pauline, one of our printmaking students has said about printmaking with us I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful printmaking course. It has been fantastic to learn the beginnings of a new process and I know that I would love to learn more. The venue, the people and the teaching all made for a really special experience for me.
