Quarr Abbey Art Gallery is hosting an exhibition of artwork by Isle of Wight artist Andrew Dowden - a collection of unique and distinctive, handmade, hand-carved ceramics and complementary textured and mixed media wall art. This is an opportunity to view Andrew Dowden's innovative and inspirational work and purchase directly from the artist. Quarr Abbey, a registered charity, receives a percentage of all exhibition sales.
Ideas and designs for Andrew's ceramic work come from various sources including nature, architecture and archaeology. Ceramic tile panels, wall plaques and standing forms are popular with collectors, in particular Tumbling Squares, Standing Stones and Wheel Forms. Surface texture and form are Andrew's main interest in ceramics, and textured designs have also been incorporated onto his oil-painted, abstract, 3D wall art.
The exhibition will also be introducing photo imagery by Lisa Dowden.
Andrew and Lisa will be in attendance during the exhibition and will be happy to discuss their work.
