The Newbury Chamber Choir gives four or five concerts a year and has become known for reviving works outside the mainstream choral repertory. The choir’s concerts have spanned several centuries of music - from the 13th to the 21st. We are a committed group of singers who enjoy performing a wide range of classical music while focusing on our core repertory of baroque and classical masterpieces. The choir performs with professional players, on historical instruments where appropriate, and gives valuable opportunities to young students and up-coming artists. We are...a vibrant mixture of about 36 adults, of all ages, from many different walks of life, with a shared love of making good-quality music together. Most of our members are experienced in choral singing, and are quite good sight-right-readers. We hold no auditions because we want to maintain our policy of openess to all but ask that new members join us on a mutual trial. Rehearsals on Tuesdays at 7.45pm.
