Stroud Arts Festival

The 78th Stroud Arts Festival runs from 19 – 27 October 2024

Founded in 1946 by local benefactors Netlam and Margaret Bigg, Stroud Arts Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the country. Whilst its initial focus was religious drama, the goal was always to inspire and engage local people of all ages and backgrounds, through a blend of performance, musical and visual arts.

The festival remains true to its goals, focusing on more traditional forms of music, voice, theatre and visual arts. For 78 years now, we have brought world class ballet, opera, choral and chamber music to our venues, as well as giving local professional artists the opportunity to exhibit and perform. This mission drives our Artistic Director Dave Ayre to bring the best of what the arts can offer, always with an eye on accessibility, inclusivity and above all making a difference to the people of Stroud and its surrounding villages.
