Polperro Fishermen's Choir, a popular male voice choir since their formation in 1923 by the singing fishermen of Polperro, provides the very best in traditional Cornish and modern popular music. The choir attracts enthusiastic audiences wherever they perform and is often contacted by visitors to the area to ensure that a planned holiday will coincide with a concert. A great many charities have benefited from the choir's love of singing and the generosity of its supporters. We have the active support of our President, the celebrity broadcaster and writer Richard Madeley, in raising money for good causes. Many members of the choir are also in the Polperro Wreckers, who (unless they are singing elsewhere) will entertain you in Polperro on most Wednesday evenings, often in a pub with a beer in hand and some songs and jokes to match. New members are always made very welcome. There's no audition or requirement to read music but you will have fun!
