Farnham Sinfonia is a Surrey-based professional orchestra creating music for the community with concerts and outreach programmes. "We work to nurture the next generation of musical talent and to entertain and inspire everyone."
Formed in October 2017 the Sinfonia has gone from strength to strength in gaining an impressive reputation of providing excellent classical music concerts within the town of Farnham, Surrey. Three concerts take place yearly, March and October at St Andrew's Parish Church in the centre of town and in June a summer Sunday afternoon concert takes place at Bury Court Barn at Bentley.
Founder-conductor Matthew Taylor, a former student of Leonard Bernstein, has appeared as guest conductor with many leading orchestras in the UK and Europe. Matthew is also active as a composer and a professor at the Royal Academy of Music. Orchestra Lead and Violinist, Elizabeth Cooney, is an extremely talented young musician who performs internationally.
