Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery (SM&AG) sits proudly in the town square and is the county’s flagship museum and art gallery. Visitors will find a full programme of activities including courses, workshops for schools, weekly toddler groups, holiday activities and one-off incredible events inspired by our temporary exhibitions programme.
Shropshire Museums now cares for over 300,000 items; from fossilised rain drops to Queen Victoria’s stockings. The objects we care for are what make our museums special. Each one tells its own unique story about Shropshire past. Some of our objects are stunning, others amusing and some just plain weird!
Entry is now free! Pop in and pay us a visit.
We welcome donations, every penny goes directly to supporting the preservation, display and conservation of the collection. A typical donation amount is £10. Please support the museum if you can.
